Scioto County’s COVID deaths now stand at 38. EMA Director Larry Mullins said a 69-year-old man died Thursday and an 84-year-old woman passed on Saturday. Scioto County Commissioner Mike Crabtree is among those lost to the virus. Scioto County saw 157 new COVID cases reported over the weekend.
The new cases bring the total to 3,307 since the start of the outbreak. There are currently 1,225 active cases in the county.
The ODH reported 95 additional recoveries for the county this weekend, bringing the number of recoveries to 2,044 over the course of the pandemic
Scioto County remains at Level Three or “Red” on the Ohio Department of Health’s Public Health Advisory System (PHAS). The county met the same 3 out of 7 indicators that it met last week.
Mullins pointed out that while a deceased may have tested positive for COVID-19, that doesn’t mean that other medical conditions did not play a part in the death.
