“Crazy Crackhead” Reports Missing Children
A woman contacted officers at 10:30 am to report that she was a “crazy crackhead” and needed to report that her children had been stolen.
When officers spoke to the woman, she admitted that she’d been using drugs, but she was concerned that something had happened to her adult children. She’d recently spoken to all of them on the phone, but since she didn’t make video calls, she became concerned she might have spoken to imposters.
Officers tried to get contact information for her children, but she was not able to provide it.
Pizza Place Reports Robbery Plot
The manager of a local pizza restaurant contacted officers at 6:30 pm to report that a man and woman had said they planned to come back later and rob the store.
The pair then left the area in a black and white Chrysler 300. The manager said he planned to close the store down for the night. Dispatch said they would provide extra patrols in the area.
Chaos at Four Keys & Royal Inn
It was a wild night at two local motels known for attracting their fair share of trouble.
At 6:40 pm, a caller from the Four Keys Inn claimed someone was trying to break down the door to his room. When officers arrived at the scene, they took a man with open warrants into custody.
However, when they showed the man’s photo to the guy making the complaint, he insisted that wasn’t the guy who had attempted to make entry. Officers took the suspect to SOMC for tests and then booked him into the Scioto County Jail on his open warrant for violating a protection order.
About the same time, police were called to the Royal Inn for a report of a group of people fighting. However nobody wanted to press charges. Police took information for a report.
Freaking Out at Speedeemart
Officers responded to Speedee Mart on Center Street after a woman told deputies that the store clerk had quietly asked her to call for help.
The woman said there was a suspicious man freaking out in the store.
When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke to a homeless man who complied with their request to leave the station. He requested a ride to Portsmouth.
A deputy dropped the man off at the Portsmouth Speedway.
