A worried father called CPS for help. He told the agency his children were living in a house in deplorable condition and residing with a registered sex offender.
Officers met up with CPS workers and did confirm that a sex offender had registered at the address provided to CPS.
Deputies accompanied CPS to the home to do a welfare check. There’s no further information on what the outcome of that visit was included in the report.
Another worried parent contacted 911 to say their child wanted to report a sex crime that happened while the child was in the custody of a relative. She said she’d been afraid to report the incident because she feared she wouldn’t be allowed to visit her child.
The woman said she would come into the Sheriff’s station the next day to speak with a detective about the incident.
