Dad Reports Neighbor Touched Child

A concerned father contacted Portsmouth Police at 1:23 am to report that a neighbor had touched his daughter.

PPD immediately contacted CPS to fill them in on the details.

A caseworker said they would follow up in the morning. PPD took information for a report.

Child Attacked by Pit Bull

PPD Officers responded to a report of a dog attack on Harding Avenue just after 7 pm. A concerned grandma said her grandson was walking home when he was attacked by a brown and white pit bull.

When police responded to the scene, the boy said he was walking and playing Pokemon Go when the dog attacked. The boy was not seriously injured, and the family said they would be satisfied with an apology from the dog’s owner.

When officers responded to the attack scene, the resident said the dog was put up in the house and that it was not his.

The owner eventually came to the victim’s residence to apologize, but police said it did not go well. The family of the victim became argumentative with the officer and the dog owner. The family declined to make a police report.
