Abandoned House Fire

At 2:37 am, a Mabert Road caller reported a fire at an abandoned house. Police contacted the utility companies.

The fire department had it under control by 3:51 pm. Spectrum said they believed the blaze damaged nearby fiber-optic lines.

Domestic Disturbance

Just after 4 pm, a caller told police his mother and her boyfriend were arguing and the mom’s boyfriend was throwing things and screaming. Police arranged for the man to take a taxi somewhere else and took statements for a report.

Suspicious Activity

Dumping at the Dari Crème

The owner of the Dari Crème on 2nd Street called police just before 9 am to report an ongoing issue on the property.

He said an older woman keeps defecating on the lot and that she was currently there in a pickup with a camper top. The woman had left by the time police arrived.

Helping Hands

Too Fast on Front Street

A Front Street caller complained to police about men on motorcycles racing up and down the street on a daily basis.

Additionally, they complained of people from a nearby transmission shop speeding.

The caller also complained that a member of Portsmouth City Council was speeding down the roadway at 60 mph.

 

Hey, That’s My Stuff

A McConnell Avenue caller told police his ex-girlfriend stole his guns just after 11 am. Police were unable to locate him.

Scary Behavior

A woman contacted officers at 11:24 am to report that a man had followed her and she had reason to believe he might arm her.

Police checked with the Prosecutor’s Office and they asked officers to arrest the man.

Cows At The Dollar General

A Harding Avenue Caller informed police there were once again cows on the lot at the Dollar General just after 7 pm. Police contacted the owner and headed to the scene.
