David Ray Warren, 67, originally of Minford, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Denton, Texas. David, a graduate of Minford High School class of 1975, resided in Minford until 2017, before making Denton, Texas his home. David is also a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Erma (Culp) Warren, and his big brother, Paul “Butch” Warren.
David leaves behind his children, his daughter, Kimberlea Rae Warren of Milwaukee, WI, and son, Kyle David Warren of Harveysburg, Ohio. He is also survived by his emotional support dog, and pride and joy, Buckee.
David retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 35 dedicated years. David became employed with FEMA, Homeland Security in 2010, working his way to his current position of Supervisor. David gained so many friends during his time employed with FEMA, they considered themselves a big family. They too, are saddened and hurt by his loss. From Pee Wee football and basketball and senior league softball, onto high school girls’ basketball and softball, “Davey” was an avid coach for many years at Minford, as well as Notre Dame Schools in Portsmouth and Wellston Schools after ending his coaching career with Minford Schools. He also enjoyed years of umpiring high school baseball, softball, as well as little league. He also refereed for high school football. Both a past times he loved and cherished, becoming a part of many childhoods.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Burial will be in White Gravel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
