He came, he dealt, he robbed—and now he’s really in hot water.
Davion Cortez Black, 29, of Dayton, is racking up charges faster than you can say “repeat offender,” as prosecutors hit him with even more felonies tied to a wave of violence and drug trafficking that’s rocked Scioto County.
This big-city bad guy is no stranger to local law enforcement. He was already facing 23 serious charges in connection to a major drug ring—and now he’s been indicted again, this time for aggravated robbery, robbery, and felonious assault.
THE REIGN OF TERROR CONTINUES
Black’s latest indictment, handed down on April 3, accuses him of violently robbing someone and causing serious injury in the process. That’s on top of an already massive rap sheet, which includes:
- Engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity
- Conspiracy
- Aggravated drug trafficking
- Weapons charges
- Drug possession and trafficking
- And more!
His pretrial hearing for the newest charges is set for May 29.
FLASHBACK: THE RAID THAT STARTED IT ALL
It all kicked off on February 13, when the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force and Portsmouth Police SWAT raided a home on Duck Run Road in Lucasville.
That’s where they found:
- $29,000 worth of meth, fentanyl, and crack cocaine
- Four loaded guns
- Nearly $3,000 in cash
- And Davion Black, right in the middle of it
Authorities say Black was one of the ringleaders behind a drug trafficking operation targeting Scioto County with deadly street drugs.
IN COURT, AGAIN… AND AGAIN
Believe it or not, this isn’t his first brush with Scioto County justice:
- November 2023: Arrested for trafficking, bailed out with help from the indigent defense fund.
- February 2024: Arrested again—bond revoked.
- March 19, 2024: Grand jury hits him with 23 new charges for organized crime and trafficking.
- April 3, 2024: Indicted AGAIN—this time for violent robbery and assault.
And through it all? Still being represented by a public defender. 😳
DAYTON DEALER, SCIOTO NIGHTMARE
Law enforcement officials have long warned that out-of-town dealers are treating Scioto County like their personal playground, pushing poison into vulnerable communities and bringing big-city crime with them.
Black’s arrest is just the latest example of Dayton, Columbus, and Detroit criminals bringing chaos to small-town Southern Ohio.
