Just before 1 am, a Wilson Avenue neighbor reported a “dead smell” coming from a condemned house in the 5400 block.
When officers arrived on the scene, they went into the home to investigate. They found a dead dog in a room right off the kitchen.
Police contacted the Health Department about removing the dog and following up on the original complaint against the house.

Later in the day, neighbors called 911 again, reporting multiple dead animals inside the home. Dispatch noted that they had contacted Code Enforcement and Animal Control multiple times about the issue. They contacted the officers again and were told someone would come out the next day.
