Deborah Sue ‘Susie’ Dingus, 74, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) in Portsmouth, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 12, 1951, in Portsmouth to the late James Randolph and Juanita Elizabeth Frese Ford, Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to caring for others, working as a beautician and a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her compassionate heart and creative spirit touched many lives, both in her career and in her community. Debbie retired from PCM (Professional Case Management) before leaving the workforce to become a full-time caregiver for her husband.
She had a passion for crafting and was known for her creativity, thoughtful handmade gifts, and warm, nurturing presence. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her gentle strength, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Debbie was a follower of Evangelistic Outreach Ministries, and she also enjoyed shopping and reading in her free time.
Deborah is survived by her beloved husband, Danny Clay Dingus; sons, Steven Clay (Amber) Dingus and Todd Seth (Patricia) Dingus, all of Portsmouth; and two siblings, Steve (Sandy) Ford of West Portsmouth and Tammy Thompson of Columbus. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Josh Dingus, Kurt (Heather) Harness, Lorna (Scott) Sommer, Tyler Crisp, Brianna White, Shayne (Lexi) White, Ricky (Ellie) White, Austin Jones, Katilyn (Paul) Brogdon, Seth (Jessica) Dingus and Alyssa Dingus. Deborah also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Brian Bear officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
