Midnight at the Cemetery? Deputies Check Out Suspicious Car: Find Wanted Man Instead

What started as a graveyard mystery in Franklin Furnace ended with a wanted man in handcuffs — but no vandalism after all. 

“They Might Be Messing with the Graves!” 

Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Gallia Pike after a driver reported something strange:
vehicle had turned around in their driveway, then headed back toward a nearby cemetery. 

The caller feared the group inside might be defacing graves and asked deputies to check it out.

Backup Called In 

Deputies arrived to find the suspicious vehicle parked near the cemeteryoccupied by several people.
Sensing something was off, the deputy requested backup from another unit to help sort things out. 

That’s when officers discovered one of the men had an open warrant out of Waverly Police Department in Pike County. 

County Line Hand-Off 

Deputies coordinated with Waverly Police, who agreed to meet them at the county line to take custody of the wanted man. The man was served with his warrant. Afterward, deputies gave him a ride to a relative’s home, ensuring he got where he needed to go safely.
