Deputies Help Elderly Woman After Fall

A woman contacted 9-1-1 just before 4 am to say that her son dropped her off at the Eagles Hall in New Boston and she couldn’t get home and needed a fireman to come to help her. 

Police later learned that an elderly woman had a bad dream and fell out of bed. She lives with her brother, so there were people on the scene to assist her. 

Tattooed Out-of-Towner Busts Outs Window In New Boston

Just after midnight, Portsmouth responded to a request from the NBPD to respond to a call in New Boston. NBPD officers were on the scene with a man who said a tattooed stranger had busted the window out of his vehicle near the AutoZone.

He said the light-skinned man drove a car with Michigan Plates and had a teardrop tattooed on his face. The complainant said the man used his elbow to break the window of his vehicle. He didn’t have any more information and decided not to file a report.

PPD told him to contact them if there were any more problems. 

Phone Helps Track Down Thieves

Portsmouth Police used a phone’s tracking system to locate stolen goods and bust a man with open warrants. 

The call reporting a vehicle break-in at the PMHA Office on Court Street came in just before 8 am. Tracking on the phone showed the phone was in the 1900 block of Kendall moving towards 17th Street. 

Police caught up with the man, who had the phone on him,  about 10 minutes later and discovered he had open warrants. They also located items stolen from the car at a Wayne Hills Apartment.

Police took the man into custody.
