A strange encounter outside a Wheelersburg restaurant sent deputies searching the area after a man allegedly threw an object at a patrol vehicle and then took off running.
Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of Fred’s Restaurant after reports that a man had thrown something at a marked cruiser.
🚔 SUSPECT TAKES OFF
According to the report, the man fled the area before deputies could make contact with him.
A deputy immediately began searching nearby businesses and locations where the suspect might have gone.
👀 SEARCH INCLUDES RESTAURANT AND MOTEL
Investigators checked inside Fred’s Restaurant looking for the suspect.
When that turned up nothing, deputies expanded the search and checked the nearby Quality Inn.
Despite the effort, the man was nowhere to be found.
⚖️ NO DAMAGE FOUND
The good news for taxpayers: whatever was thrown at the cruiser apparently didn’t do any damage.
After inspecting the patrol vehicle, deputies reported no visible damage.
🤷 A QUICK EXIT
At this point, authorities don’t know why the man allegedly threw the object or what exactly was thrown.
What they do know is that he disappeared before deputies could ask any questions.
The incident ended with an unsuccessful search, an undamaged cruiser, and one suspect who managed to slip away.
For now, it’s another entry in the “only in the police reports” category.
