There’s nothing sadder than seeing a helpless person being abused by the people who are supposed to love them the most. Area deputies launched an investigation after a woman reported that her son was abusing her.
The investigation started when Lawrence County EMS contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that they’d transported a woman to the hospital after she reported chest pain. The woman told medics that her son had verbally abused her, threatened her, and stolen $10,000 from her. She claimed he threatened to harm her if she called the police.
Officers learned the woman was currently in the hospital and planned to go there to speak to her.
