Deputies Investigate Three Overnight Injury Accidents

Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS personnel responded to three injury accidents within less than two hours on Saturday.

The first call came in at 3:15 a.m. after an off-duty NBPD officer came across a rollover wreck on St. Rt. 104 just after 3 a.m. The officers saw the vehicle but could not find the driver, though they did spot a case of beer in the middle of the road.

A female passenger was still inside the car, but fortunately, EMS personnel were able to get her out.

About 45 minutes later, a report of an accident on Swauger Valley Road came in. Officers and EMS located a man who said he was thrown from the vehicle but was fine. Police noted he appeared to be intoxicated.

At 4:42 am, a call came in for a motorcycle accident with the driver in a ditch on St. Rt. 7e. The caller said the driver wasn’t wearing a helmet and was bleeding from the head.

EMS and deputies responded to the scene. Medics said the motorcyclist’s wounds were superficial and he refused transport to the hospital.
