Deputies Search Riverbank for Body After Shooting Tip

Deputies searched the banks of the Ohio River for a potential dead body after a worried sister came in to report her brother missing. She said someone had sent family members messages on Snapchat saying he’d been shot and was dead on the riverbank.

Lawrence County Deputies sprang into action, searching the riverbank and launching a drone to check the area from the air, but didn’t find anything.

The missing man had been recently released from jail to a rehab facility wearing an ankle monitor. However, he spent less than four hours at the facility before he cut off his ankle monitor and made a run for it.

Officers believe he was hiding out and was probably the person who sent the messages that terrified his family.

Later in the day, the man’s brother told officers he got a tip his brother had been spotted at a New Boston drug house and was staying with a woman in a trailer. Deputies took information for a report.
