Deputies Use Rolling Roadblock to Stop Strangulation Suspect

MINFORD, OH — A frightening domestic violence call in Minford ended with deputies using a rolling roadblock to stop a fleeing suspect accused of strangling and assaulting a woman. Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched after a caller reported a fight in which a man had allegedly put his hands around a woman’s neck. According to dispatch traffic, the woman had reportedly locked herself inside her vehicle to keep the man away from her. The caller told dispatchers they were unsure whether weapons were involved and advised the suspect had attempted to leave before returning and restarting the confrontation. 🚔 Township Officer Pulled in Due to Busy Units At the time of the call, sheriff’s office units were tied up elsewhere, including one deputy handling a suspect at a hospital. Because of that, dispatch requested assistance from a township patrol officer to respond to the emergency. When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect had just fled the area in a vehicle down Taylor Hill Road. 🚨 Rolling Roadblock Used to Stop Suspect Multiple units began following the vehicle. During the pursuit, deputies advised over the radio they were attempting to get around the suspect’s vehicle to perform a rolling roadblock maneuver. A short time later, deputies successfully stopped the suspect and took him into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Scioto County Jail. 📸 Evidence Collected at Scene Deputies took statements from the victim and collected photographs documenting injuries and evidence connected to the incident. The parents of the victim later arrived to retrieve the vehicle involved.
