Deputy Finds Child Wandering on Findlay Street

Deputy Finds Child Wandering on Findlay Street

A Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a little girl riding her bike in the middle of the road just after 8 am. The deputy said the child didn’t look old enough to be in school and was unable to tell the officer her address.

She did know her brother’s name. Deputies contacted the school to try to figure out how to get her home and also got in touch with Scioto County Children Protective Services.

The school provided officers with the boy’s last known address. A deputy stayed with the child at the sheriff’s office while another deputy headed over to the address.

A deputy spoke with the girl’s grandfather and informed him he needed to come to the sheriff’s office.
