Deputy Holds Suspect at Gunpoint After Lawnmower Chase

A frightening incident involving threats to officers and a lawnmower chase happened on Howard Furnace Road just after 7 pm.

A resident called in saying that a neighbor waved a gun at her and said he was going to kill all FBI Agents. She said the man had it in his head that his neighbors worked for the FBI. The neighbor reported he was driving a rider mower while intoxicated and pulled a gun on her husband.

When deputies went looking for the man, he took off a mower and refused to stop for them.

Deputies stopped the man and held him at gunpoint, and located a weapon about 75 feet away from the road.

Police arrested him for aggravated menacing, having a weapon under a disability, and failure to comply.

Caller Reports Topless Woman Mowing Lawn

Officers responded to an unusual call just after 2:30 pm.

The caller reported an older woman was mowing lawns in some unusual attire. The witness said an older woman with no shirt on was mowing grass in the area.

However, she was wearing a bra and, hopefully, some sunscreen. Police searched the area but could not locate the topless woman.

Drunk Driving Lawnmower

Another report involving a lawn mower came in just after midnight. A caller reported an intoxicated man on a riding mower headed westbound on 8th Street.

Police caught up with him at the Faststop and took him into custody for disorderly conduct.
