Deputy ODs after Suspect Throws Drugs in His Face – Hero Nurse Saves the Day

A nurse is being hailed as a hero after a frightening incident in Oak Hill, West Virginia.

Tuesday evening around 6 pm, an officer with the Oak Hill, WV Police Department conducted a traffic stop near the Lochgelly overpass. A passenger in the vehicle ran away and began to fight the officer when they tried to restrain him. When a second officer arrived, the runner ripped open a bag of powder and threw it in the officers’ faces.

The officers managed to take the man into custody, but shortly after, one of the officers collapsed showing symptoms of an opiate overdose. Then, the second officer began to show the same symptoms.

Fortunately, an off-duty nurse happened to be passing by and administered NARCAN to revive the officers.

An ambulance transported them to a hospital for treatment, and both were later released.

Keith Deshon Adams, of North Carolina, is currently in custody and awaiting arraignment on attempted murder charges. A second suspect is still at large.
