Dewey Lee Tackett II, 55, of Spring Hill, Florida formerly of Waverly passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Adena Pike Medical Center.  He was born February 24, 1969 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Dewey Lee Tackett and Sharon Elizabeth Osborne (Rayce) Pritchett of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Also surviving are his sons, Had’n Tackett of Waverly and Zach Tackett of Waverly; sister, Angie Tackett (Curt) Sparks of St. Cloud, Florida; brother, Justin (Emily Viar) Tackett of Waverly; step-mother, Vickie Tackett of Waverly; niece, Hannah Sparks of St. Cloud, Florida; nephews, Boston Lance Tackett, Saxton Lee Tackett and Bodhi Wayne Tackett; uncles, Carlis Tackett, Grover Tackett and Ervin Tackett; aunts, Penny Montgomery and Anna Lou Hamilton; and a special niece, Amanda Tackett; and many friends and loved ones, a very special crew.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by uncles and aunts, Phil Osborne, Bobby Tackett, Rebal Havens, Mary Ann Hamilton, Marti Knipp, John Osborne, Ozzy Osborne, Zettie Tackett, Bill Tackett, Dorothy Osborne and Baxter Osborne

Dewey (Bud/Buster) Tackett was the Director of Operations for NexGen Construction Group, LLC but he was way more than that to anyone who interacted with him. His laugh, his infectious smile, his love, his hugs and his life were contagious. He has left behind a legacy of kindness and character no one matches. A father, son, brother, mentor, uncle, friend, a captain (Bud), cousin, pillar, rock, Superman and so much more. His friends were family. The light of any room.  Most of all, he loved his sister, his best friend, his sons, his mom, his brother, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and more.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Roosa officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 18th at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service.
