We’ve told you about many cases of horrific animal abuse and neglect, and despite the best efforts of humane agents, it is still happening. Officers discovered another shocking case when they were called in to do a welfare check at a Lawrence County home.
A caller told them about a man with nine dogs who’d been cautioned by authorities not to bring any more animals into the home was still taking in animals. He allegedly claimed that no one would tell him what to do in his house.
Further, the caller said that a bedridden female who wasn’t able to care for herself also lives in the home.
Officers were given permission to enter the home to take pictures of the living conditions. They found the home not suitable for humans for animals. They reported a horrible smell from dog feces and trash strewn about the house.
In fact, the smell was so bad that officers had to step outside to catch their breath. Deputies took information and pictures for a report.
