Suspicious Activity

Tracy Park Troubles

An officer did a walkthrough of Tracy Park just before 1 am and asked three individuals to leave since the park was closed.

Dog Attacks Apartment Residents, Officer

At 5:25 am, a 16th Street Apartment resident reported a big dog near the building attempted to bite her.

When an officer arrived on the scene, the dog went after the officer twice. The officer pepper-sprayed the dog, which had already attacked several other residents.

The officer attempted to contact animal control without success but did manage to locate the owner and advise her to keep the dog inside. Additionally, the officer attempted to call the apartment manager without success.

Animal Control called back and said they would check on the situation the next day.

Unwelcome Campers

At 8:30 am, Kroger reported several people camped out on the west side of the building. The manager asked them to leave.

They gathered their belongings and left.

Panhandling Problem

Just after 12:30 pm, a caller reported a shirtless panhandler carrying a golf club menacing customers at AT&T Wireless on Gallia. Police could not locate the subject.

Hey, That’s My Stuff

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at the Dash Thru on Gallia at 2:37 pm. The woman reportedly took several items. Police took information for a report.

Filthy Home

A homeowner serving an eviction notice on a Mabert Road home asked police to check on the welfare of the tenants’ kids. The landlord said the home was filthy.

The tenant said she is moving out willingly and would be gone in two days.

Toking at the Sober House

Just after 11 pm, a resident of a recovery house called to report that the top floor smelled like marijuana.

When officers checked in with the apartment the smell came from, the resident admitted to smoking earlier but said he didn’t have any now.

Police advised him to quit smoking pot in sober housing.
