A woman told deputies she has now purchased four new tires after a neighbor’s dog repeatedly ran into the roadway and bit the tires of passing vehicles.
Deputies responded to a Chesapeake neighborhood after a woman reported the latest incident involving an aggressive dog.
According to the report, the woman said her sister was driving past a neighboring residence when the dog ran into the road and bit one of the vehicle’s tires, puncturing it so badly it could not be repaired.
She told deputies this wasn’t an isolated incident.
According to the complaint, the same dog has damaged four tires over the past week by chasing vehicles and biting the tires as they passed.
The woman said she and her family have tried speaking with the dog’s owners but claim the problem continues because the dog is not being kept confined.
She also told deputies she is sometimes forced to stop in the roadway because she fears hitting the dog as it runs toward passing vehicles.
The complaint has been documented, and the incident remains under investigation.
