Dog Shot, Security Cameras Destroyed

Sheriff

Security cameras can help protect your property, but they don’t do a lot of good if they aren’t working. That’s what happened to a Scioto County man on Saturday evening when his dog was shot.

Just after 6 p.m., a resident of St. Rt. 348 called 9-1-1 to report that someone shot his dog. He said he left home for a couple of hours and came home to find his dog wounded and his security cameras and other property destroyed. The man rushed the dog to the vet for treatment.

He suspected his neighbor was out to get him, and the man actually came onto the property and argued with the man while an officer was there. The officer advised him to leave.

The man said he would attempt to recover footage of the incident from his broken cameras. Officers said to contact them if he did and suggested he get new cameras and hide them in out-of-the-way places.
