Don’t Shoot People, Kids-Scioto County Sheriff’s Report

Don’t Shoot People, Kids

Children were reported shooting BB guns at other children. Confusion over a life flight. There’s also a man who says his dogs are okay, but someone online says he’s abusive.  We break down the Scioto County Sheriff’s Daily Briefing.

Don’t Shoot People, Kids

In West Portsmouth, 2 boys were out shooting BB guns. After noticing that no adults were around, a neighbor contacted the Sheriff’s office. When deputies arrived, they found that the situation was more serious than they thought.

Upon speaking with the boys it was discovered that one of them had taken aim at some girls. In fact, he actually shot at the girls. Thankfully, they were not injured.

The deputies rounded up all of the parents and guardians of the children and made them aware of the situation. The kids were left to deal with the adults.

Flight or No Flight?

In Green Township a serious car wreck led to serious confusion about an air ambulance.

Air Evac was requested to meet the squad at SOMC. However, Air Evac was unavailable. Next, they called Medflight. They said their helicopter had a 36-minute ETA.

45 minutes later, the chopper had not arrived at SOMC. The squad asked if the flight had been canceled. Dispatchers informed them the flight was still scheduled to arrive.

The Green Township squad told dispatch that they could cancel the helicopter. Dispatch said they would check with SOMC before canceling. Indeed, the doctors at SOMC still wanted the Medflight.

There was no information in the report about the patient’s injuries or condition.

I Don’t Abuse My Dogs!

Deputies were called to a residence on 139 after a man complained that he was being harassed and threatened on social media.

The man told authorities that a female had come onto his property without permission and began to feed his dogs. After, he said she posted on social media that he was abusing his dogs.

The deputy inspected the area and the dogs. It was determined that they were healthy and in good care.
