Dorothy Adkins, 89, of Portsmouth

June 2, 1934 - October 12, 2023

Dorothy Pauline (Ratcliff) Adkins, 89 of Portsmouth, went to be with our Lord peacefully at her home with her son Scott by her side on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was born June 2, 1934, in Scioto County to the late Everett Ratcliff and Nettie (Davis) Ratcliff.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a son James Lee Adkins and siblings: Evelyn “Liz” Bentley, Betty Lewis, Phyllis Farney and Rosella “Rosie” Harr.

Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had worked in many different fields. She loved to travel to see her family. She had a green thumb and also loved to cook and there would be no leftovers. Her door was always open to anyone who needed help. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She lived her life to fullness.

Pauline is survived by 2 sons: Vernon “Joey” Ratcliff and William “Scott” Adkins, a daughter Paulette Coriell, siblings: Wilma McKenzie, Richard “Dean” Ratcliff, Anna “Ann” Adkins and Howard (Nancy) “Frank” Ratcliff, grandchildren; Joseph (Sharon) Ratcliff Jr., Tracy Maish, James “Whit” (Courtney) Ratcliff, Rhonda (Jeff) Smith, Charles Smith III, Jamie (Bobby) Bell, Donnie Newburn, David Newburn, John (Amy) Coriel III, Daniel “Lee” (Ginger) Coriell, James “JT” (Sharla) Coriell, Cherly Tsotsos, Patti Tsotsos, Angelo Tsotos, Brandi hayslip and Samantha Osmun, 46 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
