Drunk & Disorderly at the Red Roof Inn

James Snyder

Reports of drunk and disorderly individuals are not uncommon at area hotels and motels, especially on the weekends, but a call to the Red Roof Inn in Wheelersburg quickly spun out of control after witnesses reported an apparently drunk man attempting to leave the parking lot just before 5 pm.

A caller reported a man in a grey Volkswagen appeared highly intoxicated and was trying to leave the area.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the man outside of the vehicle waiting for a ride. They learned he had been previously barred from the property. The man then got back into the vehicle and proceeded to scuffle with officers as they tried to take him into custody.

Police found the man aggressive and called ahead to the jail to ask that they have the restraint chair ready to hold the man. Police got statements from the clerk at the hotel and then took the suspect to the Scioto County Jail.

Officers booked James Snyder for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
