Drunk Driving at the Taco Bell

Portsmouth Police arrested a man for driving under the influence at the Taco Bell just before 2:30 am.

Officers took 25-year-old Austin Adkins into custody and transported him to the Ohio State Patrol post for a sobriety test. 

Police arranged for his vehicle to be towed. After tests at the OSP post, officers transported Adkins to the Scioto County Jail. 

The bond was set at $1,000.

Gun Spotted at Chillicothe Street Bar Fight

Portsmouth Ohio Police responded to a bar fight report at Frank & Steins Lounge just after 2:30 am. 

A man contacted police to say another man hit him in the face during an argument. Then another caller said there was a vehicle stuck on the sidewalk with a group of people around it. 

A bartender contacted officers and said she was fairly sure she saw someone take a gun from the vehicle. 

Police arrived on the scene 20 minutes later and got things under control. 

Suspicious Lights in Green Lawn Cemetery 

Right around midnight, a worried neighbor contacted Portsmouth Police Officers to report there were people inside Greenlawn Cemetery with flashlights. The caller said they were near the garage in the northeast corner of the cemetery. 

Four officers responded to the area, and one patrol car spotted them heading south on Baird. Another officer caught up with the group of kids at Kinneys and Franklin. 

Police dropped three teenage boys off at their respective homes and left them in the custody of their parents after a talking to. 

Loose Pit Bulls Kill Kitten on Bertha Avenue

Two loose dogs killed a kitten on Bertha Avenue just after 5 pm. 

Officers responded to a report of neighbors arguing and a man told them that two pit bulls from Norway Road went under his trailer and killed at least one kitten.

The man told police this was an ongoing problem in the area, and the neighbors had refused to do anything about it. 

Police advised the man to call animal control to report the problem.
