Woman Protests Easter at Church
Just after 8:30 pm, a woman showed up at a Poplar Street Church and caused a disturbance outside.
Witnesses said she was upset because she felt it was a sin to celebrate Easter and to eat certain foods. The woman left before the officers arrived.
Police advised church members to contact them if the woman returned, and they will trespass her from the property.
Man Threatens to Burn Down Church
Police responded to Waller Street for a report of a man armed with a knife threatening to burn down a church and kill people if they didn’t give him their car keys.
When officers arrived on the scene, they learned the suspect had just been released from jail and had come to pick up some property he’d left there.
The man’s property was returned, and he was trespassed from the area.
