Elderly Woman Revived by Portsmouth Police After Overdose

A quick-thinking officer administered Narcan after a report of an overdose on Russ Street.

The initial call came in at 10:12 am, saying an elderly female had overdosed. When officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later, they administered Narcan to the woman.

Medics had to restrain the patient in an ambulance, and an officer described her as “out of her head.” There was an open warrant for the woman from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office; however, due to her condition, police thought she was medically unsuited for arrest.
