Employees Rush to Save Drowning Child at the Super 8

Witnesses say employees of the Super 8 hotel on US 23 rushed to the aid of a drowning boy on Wednesday afternoon.

According to witnesses on the scene, the child was playing at the pool and was supervised by an adult when he went under. Around 1:30 pm, employees heard screams and rushed to attempt to perform CPR on the child while they waited for first responders.

Scioto County dispatched a rescue squad and multiple deputies to the scene. According to official reports, the child was in full code. Medics attempted to revive him and rushed him to SOMC where medical professionals worked to revive the child. 

Officers continued to investigate the scene, and reports say the child was transferred to Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
