Entire Coal Grove Police Department Quits

In a small village of Coal Grove, the police walked out.

Village Councilman Andy Holmes says the entire Coal Grove Police Department has resigned.

In response to the resignations of his three officers, Police Chief Randy Lewis resigned from his position.

Lewis requested that his resignation be effective on January 24.

As of now, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for protecting the village, Holmes says.

On January 27, the village council will meet again and discuss the next steps.
