Eugene Williams, 84, of New Boston, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Edgewood Manor in Lucasville. He was born January 13, 1937, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Milford Jack and Goldie (Stinson) Boggs Williams.
Gene was an Army veteran and a former employee of the Ford Motor Company in Chicago. He retired from Southern Ohio Correctional Facility where he had worked as a corrections officer. Gene was also a 1955 graduate of PHS and he enjoyed watching football.
Surviving are three sons, Marty Jack Williams of Punta Gorda, FL, Scott Williams, and Steve Williams; two daughters, Kelly Jean (Ralph) Galloway of McDermott and Julie Ann (Joe) Montalbano of Cockeysville, MD; one sister, Peggy (Don) Yuenger of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Meadows, Chelsea Rene Meadows, and Conner Mackenzie Allen; two nieces, a nephew, and their families.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Johnson; and a sister, Doris Shelpman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Joseph Yukum officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Military rites will be conducted by the James Dickey Post America Legion Honor Detail.
Per CDC guidelines, masks will be required.
In honor of Mr. Williams’ service to our country, the Army flag will fly at the funeral home.
