EXCLUSIVE Election Breaking Updates

Scioto County Daily News recently received exclusive information regarding the 2020 primary election from a person within the County who cannot speak publicly. This exclusive included information regarding the remaining ballots that were received by the county before the deadline on April 27th.

About 300 ballots came in by this deadline, and 180 of them were Republican ballots meaning they have an effect on the local primaries such as the Crabtree v. Donini election and the Murphy v. Thoroughman election. Based on the fact that Thoroughman held a 200 vote lead, and Crabtree held a 2000 vote lead, and only 180 more votes can be counted, it is impossible for Murphy or Donini to win their primaries.

The other important primary that can be confirmed at this time is the race between David Uible and Terry Johnson for State Senate. Johnson took a major lead in the Scioto part of the primary, and now that the other counties have published their votes, his victory can be confirmed.

50 of the ballots are currently under investigation by the State. This does not mean that the ballots were necessarily frauds but rather had poor signatures, improperly filled-out ballots, or just generally needed a second opinion from the State.

With this updated information, Mike Crabtree can now be confirmed as the Republican candidate for County Commissioner. David Thoroughman (we can call) will be our next Sheriff. These were the two most contested elections of this primary, and with the number of remaining ballots, the victors can reasonably be confirmed.
