A four-year-old Scioto County girl was injured by the family dog Monday afternoon.
Scioto County Deputies were called to SOMC Hospital after a child sustained bites to her face, neck, ear, and left eye. The family’s one-year-old Mal-Huskie mix bit the child the previous evening.
The parents said it was not an aggressive attack. Instead, they said the child was eating, and the dog went for the girl’s food.
The family told police the dog was up-to-date on all shots and that they planned to rehome the dog to a friend.
