A routine visit to check on a trailer turned into a scene straight out of a Wild West showdown when a man says his own family aimed assault rifles at him and threatened his life.
According to a report filed at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the man arrived at a County Road 64 property around 12:30 p.m. to inspect his office trailer — only to find it flipped over with the frame removed and being cut apart. The alleged culprits? His brother and two nephews.
But the real shock came next.
The man claims that when he stopped his vehicle, all three relatives pointed assault rifles at him — with his brother reportedly yelling, “Leave or die!” Fearing for his life, the man backed off and drove to a nearby residence to call 911.
Unfortunately, the drama didn’t end there. One of the nephews was allegedly waiting for him, armed with a .22 caliber rifle styled like an AR-15. When asked why they destroyed the trailer, the nephew coolly replied, “It’s a civil matter,” then put his finger on the trigger and said, “We’re going to handle it like civil people do.”
The man fled again, afraid the next words might be his last.
At the time of the report, deputies had not yet made contact with the brother or nephews, and no photos or video evidence had been provided.
