A family fight in Wheelersburg took an unexpected turn when a mail carrier was hit by a car during the chaos.
Scioto County sheriff’s deputies were called after the mail carrier reported being struck by a blue Honda CR-V.
According to the caller, two women were involved in a domestic fight connected to the vehicle, and one person was injured.
Deputies requested EMS for the victim.
One of the women reportedly left the area on foot, and deputies began looking for her.
By the end of the call, officers had both women in custody.
EMS checked the people involved, but no one was transported to the hospital.
Deputies arrested Rinie Hester and Alexis Hester on charges of domestic violence and booked both into the Scioto County Jail.
The available report does not explain exactly how the mail carrier was hit or who was driving the CR-V at the time.
But what appears to have started as a family fight ended with a mail carrier caught in the middle, two women under arrest, and everyone headed in very different directions.
The charges are allegations, and both women are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
