A public argument in South Webster drew police attention after a bystander walked up to a deputy at Dollar General and reported a woman and a girl were fighting.
The witness said the two had moved from the store area and were now near the post office.
The deputy didn’t have to guess where they were.
According to the report, he was close enough to hear the fighting in the background as he headed that way.
Officers caught up with everyone involved and separated the parties to figure out what happened.
Police spoke with all involved at the scene and said they would follow up with the school resource officer regarding the incident.
No arrests were listed in the initial report.
👀 WHY SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS GET INVOLVED
When juveniles are involved in fights or ongoing disputes, school resource officers are often contacted because:
- Problems may be carrying over from school
- Students may know each other through school
- Additional intervention may be needed before things escalate again
⚠️ PUBLIC FIGHTS CAN TURN FAST
Arguments in parking lots, sidewalks, or post office areas can quickly grow into larger scenes with crowds and videos.
The best move when tempers flare in public is simple:
- Create distance
- Call police if needed
- Avoid jumping in unless someone is in danger
In this case, officers got there quickly—because they could literally hear it happening.
