A former employee was so fed up with his workplace that he threatened to burn down the building on his way out.

Officers responded to a business on US 23 after a witness said a former employee threatened to burn down the building and left saying he would come back. They were worried because the man was known to own a gun.

Officers spoke with the man, who said he’d just been fired. He admitted to cursing out everyone in the shop and making a threat. However, he calmed down, collected his tools, and left without incident.

Deputies dealt with another disgruntled employee around 2:30 p.m. They stopped by his home to warn him to stay away from Gaham’s Food and Beverage and not to come to the store, parking lot, or surrounding property.

Officers warned him that the store could fire criminal trespass charges if he returned.
