Firefighter Injured in McDermott Fire

Just before noon, dispatch received an alert that a smoke detector had gone off in the bedroom of a McDermott home.  

At the same time, the fire department received multiple calls of visible flames and smoke from the home.

Rush, Union, Washington, and Morgan fire departments responded to the scene to fight the fire.  

A fireman was injured fighting the blaze and transported to SOMC via ambulance. The Red Cross was called in to help the family. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
