Foot Pursuit for Wanted Man Ends With Woman’s Arrest

foot pursuit arrest

A search for a man listed as armed and dangerous led Scioto County deputies through a Lucasville neighborhood and ended with the arrest of a woman on two probation violations.

A deputy on patrol spotted the wanted man near Cottonwood Avenue and Center Street and attempted to stop him. The man ran, setting off a foot pursuit through the area.

Dispatch information warned officers that the man should be considered armed and dangerous and had violent tendencies.

Deputies searched several nearby properties while attempting to locate him. A homeowner on Center Street allowed officers to sweep the residence, and residents at another address also gave deputies permission to search.

The report did not indicate that the wanted man was taken into custody.

During the search, deputies encountered Mary Reed, who was wanted on two open probation violation charges.

Before taking Reed to jail, deputies called for an ambulance and arranged for her to be taken to the hospital. The report did not specify why she required medical attention.

After she was cleared, officers took Reed into custody on both probation violation charges.
