Former Pike County Sheriff, Charlie Reader, Now Inmate #A785880
Former Pike County Sheriff Charlie Reader was unceremoniously taken to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections at Orient immediately after Judge Patricia Cosgrove imposed his sentencing.
Investigation of Reader was the result of an anonymous tip. Many believe this was retaliation from the high-profile murder investigation that was covered across the nation.
Those accused in the Rhoden family mass killing of 8 people are still awaiting trial. Evidence and investigation procedures overseen by then-Sheriff Reader can possibly be called into question by defense attorneys.
According to the ODRC, Reader will be held until 03/22/24.
