Frances Irene Monteith, 88, of Portsmouth, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Advance Life 360 in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born on January 18, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late William and Myrtle Jenkins Ratcliff.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Monteith; three sisters, Jean Ryan, Ruth Mershon, and Evelyn Johnson; three brothers, Buddy, Samuel, and Junior Ratcliff.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kathy (Scott) Pick of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Debbie Austin of Portsmouth, Ohio; two sons, Bobby (Malissa) Ratcliff of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Brian (Carol) Ratcliff of Portsmouth, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Phyliss Timberlake of Wheelersburg, Ohio, along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Morton-Hunt Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Charles Holsinger officiating. Burial will follow at McKendree Cemetery in Nile Township, Stout, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service begins.
