Franklin “Frank” James Reed, 59, of Portsmouth, died Friday, October 18, 2024 at his home. He was born June 5, 1965 in Portsmouth, to the late Charles and Violet (Craft) Reed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimbo Reed, Kenny Reed, Randy “Bo” Reed, Patricia Marcum, Shirley Brannan, Brenda Ruggles, Penny Lockhart, and Darka Reed.
Frank loved to watch wrestling and he was most comfortable outdoors, where he loved to fish, ride 4-wheelers, and especially to partake in some of God’s natural harvest, marijuana.
Frank was a simple man, but full of love for his family that survive him, including his daughter, Christy Ward (Cliff) of West Chester, two sons, Shannon Mason and Josh Wimmer of Portsmouth, a step-son, Brandon Mercer, a sister, Mary Lockhart of Portsmouth, a brother, Robert Reed of Portsmouth, and many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his grandchildren that he was so proud of, Haley Redoutey, Taylor Entler, and Nathan Goodwin, and a great-grandchild, Kadence Osborne.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday, from 11:00 A.M. until the start of service at 1:00 P.M.
