Franklin Furnace Man Asks Cops for Permission To Shoot Someone

A Franklin Furnace man contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to ask for permission to shoot someone.

Just after 6 pm on Saturday, he called dispatch to report there was a man at the end of his property. He said the man was threatening him and asked for permission to shoot him.

Dispatch said they would not give him permission to shoot anyone. The man replied that he also had a baseball bat available. However, dispatch refused to give him the go-ahead to harm anyone.

When a deputy arrived on the scene, he discovered the other person was walking down the road. The deputy explained that it is not illegal for anyone to walk down the road. The deputy warned the man to stay off the other guy’s property.
