Free books for Scioto County kids

Ohio’s First Lady Fran DeWine stopped by the Portsmouth Public Library on Friday to celebrate the launch of the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library in Scioto County.

The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library works in conjunction with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to offer any child from birth to age five in Scioto County a free, new book from the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library every month regardless of family income.

The Governor’s Imagination Library will offer updates on book shipments as well and reading tips to help kids get the most out of their books.

Ohio legislature will spend $5 million dollars over the next two years to bring the Imagination Library to all 88 counties in Ohio by 2021.
