Gallia Street Chaos – Road Rage at Taco Bell and Crimes

ppd

A narrow stretch of Gallia Street kept Portsmouth Police pretty busy.

Witnesses at McDonald’s called 911 just before 11 am to report a strange man was in the restaurant asking for money. He told people he was stranded there.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man said he was out of town and just wanted to get a ride back home. Police gave him a ride to a Robinson Avenue address.

Police responded to a report of a road rage incident in front of the Taco Bell on Gallia Street. A woman said a driver in a black van was all over the road between Wheelersburg in Portsmouth. She said when they pulled into the parking lot, the driver got out of his vehicle, approached them, and slapped her boyfriend’s hand.

She said the man then got back in the vehicle and tried to hit them before taking off down US 52.

Just after 9 pm, employees at the Marathon on Gallia said a man got off a Greyhound Bus, and proceeded to steal several items before getting back on. Employees spoke with the driver, who waited for police to arrive. Officers arrested Travis Hafsaas for theft.

Witnesses reported an intoxicated man and woman screaming at each other in front of the Speedway at 3:40 am. Officers spoke with a group of women who said one of their friends had gotten into an argument with a man at the gas station, but he had left.

Though most of the women were intoxicated, officers noted they had a sober designated driver.
