Gary Spriggs, 81, of Piketon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born November 21, 1943 in Lynx, Ohio son of the late Vinton and Mary Ellen Spriggs.
Gary is survived by a sister, Sharon (David) Gammon of Cincinnati, Ohio, a brother, Steven (Vicki) Spriggs of Piketon and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gullett Spriggs, daughter, Kimberly Smallwood, sons, Vince Smallwood and Eric Spriggs and brothers, David and Kenneth Spriggs.
Gary was a lifelong resident of the Camp Creek area and worked many years in construction. Before getting sick you would always see Gary playing basketball day and night. If he wasn’t playing basketball, he would be riding countless hours on his bicycle to stay in shape. Gary loved the Lord with all his heart and loved to listen to gospel music. After moving to Piketon Nursing Center, Gary continued to stay busy attending church services, bingo and the many parties and outings they had. Gary absolutely loved Mt. Dew and sweets and no matter his pain or whether he remembered you he always had a smile for everyone who entered his room. A special thank you to the entire staff at Piketon Nursing Center for loving him and being his extended family.
