The Portsmouth Department of Public Utilities is warning citizens to be on the lookout for discolored water and low water pressure for a one-month period starting September 3rd. But it’s all for a good cause. The agency is flushing fire hydrants. That process may cause discolored water and low water pressure, but residents should notice an improvement in their water flow after it’s done. The flushing will begin at 6 p.m. and last six to eight hours.
