Gig Worker Leaves Small Child in Car- Police Not Happy
A gig worker left a small child unattended in a car, triggering police intervention.
At 10 pm, police received a report of a child left alone inside a car for an extended period of time at Buffalo Wild Wings.
When police arrived at the scene, they learned the mother was a gig worker and was there to pick up an order for DoorDash and had left the 4-year-old child alone in the vehicle with the doors locked and windows cracked.
Police advised the mother against leaving the child alone in the car for any length of time and warned they would contact CPS if it happened again.
Screams in the Night on 11th Street
An 11th Street neighbor contacted police at 1:30 am to report his neighbor was in his backyard screaming and acting as if he were on drugs.
Officers took the man into custody.
Overdose on 8th Street
Medics and officers responded to 8th Street after a report of an overdose at 8 pm. The victim refused to go to the hospital, but did agree to speak with someone from a drug counseling center.
Police received another report of an overdose at 10 pm, this time on Market Street. The victim was transported to SOMC for treatment.
